The Fire Prevention and Education Bureau incorporates the entire department within its mission. It is proven that educating members of the public on how to prevent fires can save lives. The department has focused many of its education activities around several pre-schools that operate within the Township, its annual open house, and in-house education sessions. DSCF0032a.JPG

The department has opened its doors to many groups such as Scouts, neighborhood associations, and preschools, providing education to accomplish achievements and advancements.

The Department  focuses on many types of  fire prevention education such as Stop Drop and Roll, Make the right call, Get Low and GO, Know two ways out, Dress up and Dress Down, Smoke Detector response and maintenance. The Department also provides a "road show", taking the fire prevention message along with fire apparatus to area businesses, open houses, and neighborhood block parties.

The Department also supports Fire Prevention by providing Inspections within occupancies open to the public. There are over one hundred such buildings within the Township.  One of the Bureau's largest responsibilities is maintaining the Township Community Right-To-Know program.  This program collects and analyzes data from all area businesses and assists business operators in providing a safe working envirnoment for their employees and visitors.  The program also provides information to residents about any concerns they may have in regards to business activities in or near their neighborhoods.
