Passports

Effective February 1, 2008

When applying for a passport you now have the choice of applying for a Passport Book or a Passport Card or both. The Passport Card is not for Air Travel. It’s valid for land and sea crossings between the US and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean only. Although you are now able to apply for the new Passport Card, the cards will not be available until spring 2008 (no date has been issued at this time). There are new applications available in our office or at: http://travel.state.gov.

The previous passport applications are no longer accepted. New applications are also available if you qualify to renew a passport by mail.

The new fees for a passport are as follows:

Passport Book

Age 16 and over- $25 fee to the Township

$75 fee to US Dept of State

Under age 16- $25 fee to the Township

$60 fee to US Dept of State

Passport Card

Age 16 and over- $25 fee to the Township

$20 fee to US Dept of State

Under age 16- $25 fee to the Township

$10 fee to US Dept of State

Method of payment accepted by the Township- Check or Cash

Method of payment accepted by US Dept of State- Check or Money Order

Anyone under age 16 must have both parents present to sign for them; Age 16 and 17 must have one parent present to sign for them. Anyone applying for a passport must be present at the time of application.

Hours that the Township accepts passport applications are Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:00pm and Friday 8:00am-11:00am.

We are now taking passport photos at the cost of $10.00.

Its currently taking between 6 and 8 weeks for routine delivery, and 3 weeks for expedited.
