Fresh on Q! Farmers' Market

Welcome to the Texas Township Farmers’ Market – “Fresh on Q!” where our community gathers to celebrate fresh, local foods and the rich agricultural diversity of southwest Michigan!

The “Fresh on Q!” Farmers’ Market will open again for the 2018 season on May 12 and features up to 35 vendors selling fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses, breads, pastries and baked goods, potted plants and cut flowers, as well as foods prepared on-site, ready to eat at the market, and more! 

The market is located at 7110 West Q Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 in the Joyce I. Neubauer Farmers’ Market Pavilion.

Our market exists to create a sense of community for Texas Township and surrounding areas, to promote local businesses and create economic development around foods that are grown, raised, and processed locally, and to raise awareness about the rich and diverse agricultural areas in southwest Michigan.

Cash, Credit, and Food Assistance Programs

The market now accept credit and debit cards and “Corners Coins”, in addition to food assistance benefits, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH, and Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH!

To use your card or these benefits at the market, visit the Farmers’ Market Information Table on the east end of the pavilion. Market customers can scan their cards in exchange for market tokens to spend at the market with our vendors.

PAYMENT METHOD KEY

• Credit/Debit: Many vendors are able to process credit or debit cards at their own tables, but you can also swipe your card at the Information Table and use the $5 tokens on anything at the market
• SNAP: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program via the Michigan Bridge Card, may be spent on fruit, vegetables, herbs, plants used to grow food, meat, eggs, dairy, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup (almost anything except non-food items, food that is hot/ready to eat, and floral items)
• DUFB: Double Up Food Bucks, may be spent on Michigan-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs and plants used to grow food
•WPF: WIC Project FRESH, may be spent on Michigan-grown fruit, vegetables and cut herbs
• MF: Market FRESH (formerly known as Senior Project FRESH), may be spent on Michigan-grown fruit, vegetables and herbs and honey
