Fire hydrant flushing is scheduled to take place throughout the township beginning next week to help maintain high water quality and system performance.
Most flushing will take place overnight between 10 PM and 6 AM. If necessary, daytime flushing may occur between 7 AM and 3:30 PM.
Here’s what to know:
✅ Flushing helps remove naturally occurring mineral build-up in the system.
✅ It also ensures hydrants and water system components are functioning properly.
✅ You may notice cloudy water temporarily—this is safe to drink. Simply run your water until it clears.
✅ Avoid doing laundry right after flushing, as some fabrics may become discolored.
