Application Process
Texas Township is an official Passport Processing Agency. We can help you complete your passport application, take your passport photo, and more. Passport processing is available Monday through Thursday by appointment only. Please be aware that during certain times—such as elections or tax collection periods—we may not be able to accept passport applications.
You can schedule an appointment for a new passport or a passport photo online by clicking here or by calling 269-375-1591.
If you’re renewing your passport, you do not need to visit a Passport Acceptance Agency. You can find more information about the renewal process online (click here for more information on the renewal process), and you’re always welcome to contact our office with any questions.
When applying for a passport, you have two passport options:
- Passport Card
Valid only for land and sea travel between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean
Not valid for air travel
Passport Book
Valid for air, land, and sea travel between the U.S. and all countries
Documents Needed for Passport Application:
- Birth Certificate (Must be an original copy)
- Driver's License
- Passport Application - Pre-filled (View the passport application form)
- Passport Photo (can be taken at our office for $15)
- Previous Passport (if applicable)
- Checkbook
Please fill out as much of the application as possible, in black ink only, prior to your visit.
When Do Parents/Legal Guardians Need to Be Present?
Minor children must be present at the appointment.
Please note that anyone under the age of 16 must have both parents/legal guardians present to sign for them. If only one parent is available, the other parent/legal guardian must complete a DS-3053 (PDF) ahead of time and bring in a copy of the drivers license. If the other parent/legal guardian cannot be located a DS-5525 (PDF) must be completed.
Ages 16 and 17 must have one parent/legal guardian present to sign for them.
For a child in a car seat, please bring a white blanket if a photo is needed.
Anyone applying for a passport must be present at the time of application.
Need to Renew Your Passport?
We do not schedule appointments for adult passport renewals, as these are done by mail or online through the U.S. Department of State website. View the Passport renewal process by clicking here.
However, we do offer appointments for passport photos needed for renewal. To schedule a photo appointment for a renewal, choose “Passport Photo ONLY” when booking online.
