Parks & Trails
Overview
Texas Township is committed to offering greenspaces for residents and neighbors to enjoy. Since 2010, the Township Board has made significant investments into the development and expansion of Township parks. The Township now has three parks and one paved trailway, spanning 2.7 miles. These park projects have been funded through MDOT and MDNR grant monies, contributions from residents and local businesses, support from the Texas Township Friends of Parks & Trails 501(c)3 organization, and through Capital Improvement Planning.
In 2016, the Texas Township Board approved two conceptual designs for a new 6th Street Park and a redesign of the existing Texas Drive Park. These park enhancements are part of Texas Township's commitment to provide excellent recreational facilities designed to enhance community and prove greater connection for families. The Parks & Trails Committee is an advisory board that provides input on future development and planned maintenance for the park.
